Atami Substrates have been developed as a base for every cultivator, so you can grow any crop in every way. Most of the Atami substrates have the RHP certification, which guarantees the substrate’s quality and ensures the reliability of properties.

Cocos Substrate

The high-quality coco fibers are sustainably ripened, washed and buffered, ensuring an optimal growth medium. The cocos contains sufficient nutrition for the first week of the growth cycle. Afterwards water with liquid fertilisers and stimulators can be added for optimal results. Cocos has a perfect structure that retains nutritious water easily and is therefore quickly absorbed by the roots of the plant.

The substrate also remains fairly light, causing the roots to receive much oxygen. As a result, the plants get a healthy and strong root system and develop at a fast pace.

Bi Grow Mix

Atami Bi-Growmix is an organically fertilised soil that is relatively airy of structure and free of harmful fungi. This makes it a good foundation for successful growing. The plants can root on it directly from the initial stage and then develop further in size.

As far as the amount and ratio of fertilisers is concerned, this substrate can be considered medium. By this we mean that when growing on Atami Bi Grow Mix, extra liquid fertilisers are present in the start-up phase. Atami advises to add liquid fertiliser after this period to the crop for optimal results. Atami Bi-Grow Mix derives its name from its composition of 20% coco fibres and chips that provide additional air chambers.

High Porosity Cocos

The availability of air is vital for your crops’ root development. Roots need to breathe and an airy substrate results in the production of more root hairs. The oxygen is required to process sugars into energy. Using this energy, the roots can expand and actively supply more nutrients to the rest of your crop.

This is why it is essential that a substrate offers a high air percentage. Any airy substrate provides proper drainage and a continuous air supply.

For this reason, Atami has launched Atami High Porosity Cocos, a substrate that offers the advantages of growing on the high-quality aged, washed, buffered, and adeptly fertilised cocos, with the added benefit of the airiness of perlite. Please increase your watering to match the increased drainage of Atami High Porosity Cocos.

Hydro Rokz Cocos 60-40

Atami Hydro Rokz Cocos 60-40 is a mix of the high quality ripened, washed, and buffered Cocos from Atami with added clay pebbles. It offers all the benefits of growing on clay pebbles, because it provides excellent drainage and a high air content for an optimal root development. Furthermore, the coco fibers ensure that the moisture around the roots remains stable. This creates a buffer that allows a longer period between irrigating.

Atami Hydro Rokz Cocos 60-40 offers many benefits of growing hydroponically.

Hydro Rokz

Atami Hydro Rokz pebbles are used for various growing methods, sometimes they are placed at the bottom of the flowerpot when growing on a substrate like soil. The Atami Hydro Rokz are used as an additional drainage, so the drainage and the supply of oxygen from below are more effective. Sometimes hydro pebbles are mixed in with the substrate, to make the growing medium airier.

The roots can branch off better. A third widely used method is growing plants directly on hydro pebbles. This is often done in combination with an oxygen pump. In this manner the roots at the bottom of the pot are constantly immersed in water with liquid fertilisers mixed in, and the oxygen pump provides enough oxygen for the roots. This growing method is very successful indeed.
