Mushroom Growing Supplements
A mushroom is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically produced above ground on soil or on its food source. The standard for the name “mushroom” is the cultivated white button mushroom, Agaricus bisporus; hence the word “mush-room” is most often applied to those fungi (Basidiomycota, Agaricomycetes) that have a stem (stipe), a cap (pileus), and gills (lamellae, sing. lamella) on the under-side of the cap. These gills produce microscopic spores that help the fungus spread across the ground or its occupant surface.
“Mushroom” describes a variety of gilled fungi, with or without stems, and the term is used even more generally, to describe both the fleshy fruiting bodies of some Ascomycota and the woody or leathery fruiting bodies of some Basidiomycota, de-pending upon the context of the word.
Forms deviating from the standard morphology usually have more specific names, such as “bolete”, “puffball”, “stinkhorn”, and “morel”, and gilled mushrooms them-selves are often called “agarics” in reference to their similarity to Agaricus or their place Agaricales.
By extension, the term “mushroom” can also designate the entire fungus when in culture; the thallus (called a mycelium) of species forming the fruiting bodies called mushrooms; or the species itself.
In order to ensure that the medium is prepared to sustain the desired mushrooms production, it is essential to inoculate it with the natural group of bacteria in the form of Ergofito Mush to remove all possible pathogens, unwanted micro-organisms and trigger the decomposition in the medium that the mushrooms requires for healthy growth.
The above is applied over and above the usual Urea and Carbohydrates fertilization.
Ergofito Mush is applied as follows:
|Ergofito Mush A||10 Days Prior Sporing||5 Kg Per Ton of Medium|
In essence the above application is to pre-prepare the medium prior usage to grow the said mushrooms. Ergofito Mush A is mixed with sufficient water to wet the en-tire ton of Medium. It will control any smells emanation thus reducing flies and in-sect’s attraction. This preparation can be applied in the production beddings if desired.
When the mushroom has emerged, once a third of the growth is achieved, apply Egofito Mush B on the medium or mushrooms and medium in the following method:
|Ergofito Mush B||10 Grams Per M2||At a Third of Growth|
By applying Ergofito Mush B, the medium and the mushroom will benefit by adding more beneficial bacteria to combat any possible invasion or interference from outside factors.
NB: As there are many types of medium and mushroom varieties, it is important that for each variety and condition a trial test is run prior full production with the above recommended dosages. By doing a control with Ergofito beneficiated test beds it will fine-tune the above methodology.
